3 MONTHS DOWN!!!!

well this week flew by!!

First off my president! HE was driving at night and a car pulled up in front of him so that he couldnt move... he started to back up and the got out of the car and threatened to shoot him so he just stopped he got out of the car and told them to take everything! they told him no and to get back in the car... so he did and the drove him around for a while like 30 minutes and then let him go... they took his car, phone, laptop, and money. he then went and got a taxi to take him home. but the weird thing is is that when the people do this they usually hold them for randsom... some one was watching over him! He is very lucky!

This week was good we didnt have much success but we did have a little! right before i got here the elders baptised a man named claudio! he is so awesome! he has been looking for wook for a long time and got a job that wouldnt let him work on sundays. as soon as he knew that he quit! then his next job his co-workers locked him in the bathroom for thirty minutes... what children... he quit that one too! but his faith is stronger then ever! he asked us for a blessing! and loved to hear the prophet speek!! what a capo!! his son is getting baptised this week and im so excited! Claudio is going to baptise him! and his wife the week after hopefully!

Today i got to got to capital! we saw the bay and this famous bridge thing! it was cool! we went to the embassy to get our DNI and that took for ever!! but it was cool we talked to some utahns that are here to work on the cordoba temple! so cool! one of the assistants to president, elder webster came with us because he had to do it too! the other three elders was fast but his and mine were slow so i got to spend a lot of time with just me and him! he is so nice! his dad and my mom worked together and so he has been so nice to me ever since i got here! he always whats to know how i am and i love it! He is a true representive of christ! but any way our taxi driver took the long way home and let us see some sweet japanes gardens and the river plata stadium! (Only the best team in argentina!) it was supper cool! too bad i forgot my camera...

Little did we know how meaningful Dalton's comment would be.  "Mom you will be happy to know i just left the most dangerous area!!"

This story is about Dalton's Mission President and the robbery occurred in the area from which Dalton was just transferred.

Armed bandits held, robbed Mormon mission president in Argentina
October 1, 2014
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — A Mormon mission president is safe after armed assailants held, robbed and released him last week in Argentina, according to a church statement and news reports.
The LDS Church confirmed the incident Wednesday involving David Paul Robertson, 52, president of the Argentina Buenos Aires West Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
President Robertson was “robbed and briefly held last week on the night of September 24th," church spokesman Dale Jones said in a statement. "The assailants took his wallet, cell phone and vehicle and then released him on the street. President Robertson is safe and has reported the incident to authorities.”
President Robertson was driving his Toyota Hilux truck when armed bandits stopped him at an intersection in Ciudadela, according to the Argentinian newspaper El Dia.
Ciudadela is a city in the Greater Buenos Aires area.
The thieves held President Robertson for a few minutes, then released him, taking his truck, computer, cell phone and cash, El Dia reported. The newspaper described the crime as an express kidnapping.
President Robertson took over as president of the Buenos Aires West mission in July, according to the LDS Church News.
President Robertson and his wife, Juliana Marie Hendershot Robertson, have seven children. The Robertsons had been living in Lima, Peru, where President Robertson had been employed by the LDS Church, prior to assuming his new eccesiastical position in Argentina.
Five days after the robbery involving President Robertson, the U.S. Embassy warned Americans living in and traveling to Argentina about a recent increase in criminal activity including express kidnappings.
The security message issued by the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires said U.S. citizens have reported a number of crimes to the embassy in recent months, including "snatch-and-grab robbery involving motorcycles and bicycles, and occasionally more serious crimes such as express kidnapping, home invasion, carjacking" and more.
The security message said Americans should avoid demonstrations and maintain a high level of vigilance.
The embassy said it did not have evidence that Americans are being targeted specifically.

on thursday we were tracting and we saw some people playing some futbol so we went and joined in! the said it was ok so we played they thought we were going to be horrible in our church clothes but we showed them!! when we joined it was 4 to 5 my team was down one and we were going to 6! elder furtado was on the other team! after a little while of playing i slotted one in! 5-5!! they got way mad, the other team, and it was then that we realized that we werent just playing for fun... they were all playing for money... we could just leave... we just got there... we played on and not long after elder furtado scored and they were content... they distributed the money and then we taught them really quickly about the restoration! loco!!

also this week i saw a dog run over by a bus... it was very sad...

Week 5!!

This week flew by and a ton happened!!

To start off! The kitten! we went to visit this invistigator who we hadnt seen in a while! we got the and were talking to her when i noticed her kitten playfully finding its way over to us! when it go over to us it scaled the fence that was between us and hopped up onto my sholder! it just sat there for a while and the crawled around my back onto my other sholder! then he hopped onto elder furtados sholder and did the same! the invistigator took him off after a little while of this and set him on the ground! he did the exact same thing over again! it was very funny and i couldnt stop laughing!

second is our investigator nestor. i cant remember if i told you about him but we meet him in the hospital.and gave him a blessing! we saw him every day after that for a week. he improved enough that he could go home. he had a tumor in one of his lungs. we called one day to comfirm our visit at his house and were told that he was back in the hospital... the following day he passed away... that was friday... so on saturday we went to his funeral. elder furtado and i helped carry the casket and it was a nice funeral.

third,i would like you to read 1 nephi 18;2-3 before reading this part! Like nephi we should all pray very often to see how the lord would have us construct our lives! not how man would...

and lastly! look and read the attacthment to this email before reading this part!

This is why im serving a mission. this is why im giving up two years of my life. im throughly convinced that we all have friends like this! and not just one many! some in countrys far away like argentina, Chile, Equador, Preu, and canada and many more! and some in the places where you live! NEVER stop looking!

I Love you all so so much! Thanks for all of the prayers!

An investigator made these ties for the Elders

P.S. do you guys remember danny aldave on my soccer team?? he is in my mission!! also my zone leader right now is elder dunn! he is from draper and know michael delahunty.

So this week was so good! The bishop bought us so much food!! it was so nice of him!!

On wednesday we went to the office and had a meeting with walter f gonzalez of the 70 and that was good!! I think it was about the book of mormons importance!! haha i didnt under stand much!! but i did under stand that he said it is imposible to recieve eternal life without reading the book of mormon sincerly more then once!! wow!! After hearing this we gave out 8 book of mormons this week!! i love it!!

On friday we go a call asking us to come to the hospital and give a blessing! so we did and nestor was the man we gave the blessing to!! he had a tumor in one of his lungs! he cant talk much and has a hard time breathing! after the blessing we taught him a lesson on the restoration of the gosple and gave him a libro de mormon! we went back saturday and sunday and taught the next two lessons!! its kind of nice that he really cant do much more then read the things we give him!! he really is accepting and understanding the thing we teach him very well! im very excited for him!!

Read the book of mormon and share it with the world!!
