So A Week In The Pench!!

so to start off the word pench is the spanglish word for pención which is like apartment! that being said, my companion has been sick with a cough for six weeks now so we went to the doctor! turns out he has broncitis... so he was sent to rest... so this week we sat in the pench alot and would go out only for schedualed apointments... so needless to say. we were in the pench alot and do much... but on the bright side of things a man named cristian is getting baptised the Saturday! he is a man whose wife has been a very good member for a long time!! he has alwayse hated the gosple and never wanted anything to do with it. after alot of years together the wife finnaly had enough. she moved out... now he is investigating the gosple. we are a little aprehensive to baptise him because we dont want him to get baptised just for his wife... when we talk to him his intentions seem real!! we are going to keep going a do this with faith!! i guess if we do our part the lord will do the rest! the lord has been so amazing for us! i swear if he was doing any more we would litterally be able to see his hand! he is amazing!! i love you all! trust the lord!! he know what is best!!! always remember that if we put in first place the lord second our wives and third our familys our lives will be alot better! el senor siempre viene primero!!

Surprise!!! We Had a Baptism!!!

so I would like to talk to you guys about the hand of the lord in my area right now!!! he is giving us miricles!!! the story starts off like this

we were two elders in a brand new area that we didnt know at all! we didnt have an area book so as you can imagine we were very lost!! we had no idea what to do but god helped us out!

our bishop happened to run into our district leader and he told him our number!! so he called us and we ended up going by that night! he took us around town and showed us some members houses and we got to know the area a little!!!

the next day we kind of didnt have much option but to go by the few people we knew of, so we did! that mainly consisted of doors in our face and wrong addresses... so we called the offices that night and they told us they had the area book!!!! so we went and got that the next morning!!!

that day we passed by one of the old investigators in the book!!! his name is rogelio!! we knowcked on his door and he yelled out quien es? (who is it) and we said los missionieros! and we expected him to say no gracias. but no he said ya voy (im comming). he let us in and we talked to him about the other missionaries that passed by!!! he told us he loves the missionaries!! he told us about how he has problems with durgs and smoking... he also told us that back in november he almost got baptised!! he had a date and everything but when the day came he didnt show up to the church... he told us it was because he started to work again and started to smoke and do drugs again!! we talked with him and we decieded to teach him the word of wisdom!! he accepted it very well and told us he was ready to quit!!! so he did!! he gave us his cigaretts to throw away and said he didnt have drugs!!! so we threw them away! the next visit we talked with him and he knew everything!!! we set a date for the 14th and he got baptised yesterday hasnt smoked or druged since the first lesson!! he is the taller of the two in the picture!!

stay tuned for next week and you will hear about the other man who is going to get baptised the 28th!!!

love you all lots!!

New area, new comp, new challenges

So its is good here in castelar! there are some difficulties but im learning a lot!

my companion, his name is elder steck, from ephrim utah and is a hard worker! he is 20 years old and has ten months on the mission! he has a patience level of about 0... which makes it really hard... when i walk down the street i pull a leaf off of a tree and play with one in my hand for a little while and he got mad at me for that and said that it is property of someone else... a different day i was just being my freindly self and ask a guy "did you cut all of this grass?" he said yes. and then i said "wow! you do a very good job!" they all do it with weed wackers here not lawn mowers so its harder to make it look good! and then he said haha thanks!! and then we kept walking and my companion told me how stupid that was of me to ask him if he cut the grass. he then went on to say that if we want there bussiness we need to act intelligent... a different day he asked me to clean something and i said ok ill do it. but it was time for excersises so i was going to do it after and then he got all mad at me and started ceaning it. he wasnt following th rules in excersing... well get by.

Castelar!!

so yes i am in a new area! it is called castelar! apperantly President Robertson thought that i did a job opening up my last area because i am now doing it again...

this area had hermanas but some guy was following them so they took them out then they put back two other sisters and it happened with them also. then they put in an elder named elder lyman,(yes he is realated to amasa lyman but im not sure how yet.) and he had a mini missionary with him. a mini missionary is when the mission needs more elders so they go and get a priest from the stakes and make him a temporary missionary. im not sure why they do it here but not in the united states! they were here for one week and then they were taken out and im not sure why. and then there wasnt anybody for two weeks and then they put me and elder steck in! he is from ephrium utah! he only has 10 months!! so not too much more then me he is 20 years old and yea!! he has the funniest country accent!

the area we got white washed into is called castelar. it is so rich... and so hard no one wants to talk to us... i thought my last area was rich... thats nothing compared to this area... all the houses here make our little humble home in bountiful look like a shack! we are going to baptise tho so no worries!!!

i learned alot this week! one thing i learned was that we will all fall short in life!! we will all make mistakes and after a little while the spirit will kind of hit us back into shape and hopefully we stay out of the track. but we will always make mistakes... for that we have jesus christ! i want to share more but i dont have much time!!

i love you all and hope you do awesome things this week!!
